PORTLAND, Ore. — An online trucking forum has reached a milestone: 15,000 members.

TeamRunSmart.com, Web-based community created by Freightliner Trucks, has been in operation since 2012, and offers users a place to share information and opinions about the business of trucking.

The forum is divided into a number of sub-groups, each devoted to a particular aspect of the business:

• Truck Smart: Topics include reducing operating costs, maximizing uptime, record keeping, and information on driving resale value.
• Fuel Smart: Discussions about how drivers can optimize fuel consumption and improve efficiency.
• Business Smart: Posters share information on maximizing revenue while minimizing expenses.
• Health Smart: Users share tips to help drivers maintain a healthy lifestyle on and off the road.

Along with providing a discussion platform, Team Run Smart also hosts a series of blogs by industry experts.

“Surpassing the 15,000 member milestone demonstrates that drivers value the ability to interact and learn from each other in this community, and are utilizing the wealth of industry resources the site provides,” said Mary Aufdemberg, director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks.
