Ontarians can request their abstracts online

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — The province’s carriers can now start the ball rolling to get a copy of their Level 2 2001 Carrier Abstract over the Web.

Available through www.carriersafetyrating.com, fleets of all sizes are able to solicit the documents on the Internet and — after the report has been generated by the mainframe — Canada Post will take care of the rest.

The Ministry of Transportation insists it is proceeding with a plan that will eventually allow the direct transfer of the information over the Web, but for now, this is as automated as the process can get.
