PIR partners receive WCB handouts

CALGARY, Alta. — Alberta trucking companies that participate in the Partners in Injury Reduction (PIR) program may share part of the $15 million handed out by the Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB).

Of the $15 million in returns handed out by WCB, about $1.3 million has been given to 468 Alberta-based trucking companies.

In order to qualify for the return, carriers must qualify for PIR certification through the Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA). That qualifies fleets for a five per cent discount on WCB premiums.

For more information about participating in PIR, contact the AMTA in Calgary at 403-243-3767, or in Edmonton at 780-448-7456.
