PMTC, THRSCA to host educational seminar in September

by Truck News

OAKVILLE, Ont. – The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC), together with the Trucking Human Resources Sector Council Atlantic (THRSCA), is hosting an educational seminar on September 16, 2015.

The seminar will be taking place in Truro, Nova Scotia and both organizations say the half-day event is one that private fleets should be sure to attend.

“PMTC wants to ensure we expand our service offerings and value added products to our members and potential members across this great country” said PMTC president Mike Millian. “This co-operative effort between PMTC and THRSCA allows us to not only achieve this, but it also introduces our Atlantic Region members to the products and services provided by their own regional Human Resource Sector Council”.

The seminar will hear from Kimberley D. Pochini, of the The Patterson Law firms. She will present on “Understanding our Responsibilities as Leaders,” that touch on dealing with mental illness in the workplace, the applicable legislation, the duty to accommodate, an employer’s right to medical information, recent legal cases, as well as available resources for employers. There will also be a seminar on dealing with the complexities of medical marijuana and the workplace.

The seminar will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., with lunch provided. Attendance is free for private fleets, however you must register to attend.
