Police call on truckers for help

SAINTE FOY, Que. — Investigators are making an appeal to the trucking community for help tracking down a suspect involved in two sexual assault incidents last summer.

On Aug. 8, 2000 at about 7 p.m., the Sainte Foy Police Service says a white male, about 40 years old, sexually assaulted an individual. The victim describes the accused as having a heavy build, good physical condition, medium complexion, black hair, round face, an average nose and mouth and a small moustache.

Four days later, on Aug. 12 of last year, the Toronto Police Service says a second sexual assault occurred. DNA testing has indicated the same person committed both crimes. Due to the geography involved in the case, police theorize the individual comes in contact with truckers on at least an occasional basis.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police immediately: Toronto 416-808-7474, Sainte Foy 418-650-7999 or Crimestoppers 800-222-TIPS (8477).
