Prairie drivers among the worst

WINNIPEG, Man. — A recent poll suggests that drivers from Manitoba and Saskatchewan are the worst for driving recklessly and dangerously.

The poll indicates that 14 per cent of drivers from those provinces admit to putting on make-up, shaving or combing their hair while driving.

An additional 67 per cent admit to running yellow lights just as they turn red, and many change lanes without signaling.

This comes as no surprise to Manitoba Trucking Association general manager, Bob Dolyniuk.

“Certainly, lane changing without signaling seems to be a Manitoba issue,” Dolyniuk told local media. “And there’s certainly been comments that where there’s merges, (Manitoba) drivers are reluctant to allow others in. But we’re not aggressive drivers.”
