Preparing for the worst

OTTAWA WEST, Ont. — The Transportation Health and Safety Association of Ontario (THSAO) is asking whether fleets are prepared to hear the phrase, ‘there’s been a fatality at the loading dock.’

The group’s council of driver trainers is set to present its annual educational conference at the Travelodge in Ottawa West. This year’s theme, Be a Leader, will be carried by a number of expert speakers discussing a wide variety of topics.

The highlight of the conference will be a three-hour mock trial presented by the Ministry of Labour staff. Companies will learn how to best prepare themselves in the event they find themselves on the hot seat.

The event will run from Sept. 21-23 and for more information, call Betty Taylor at 800-263-5016 ext. 274.
