Arlington, Va. — President of the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI), Rebecca Brewster, will partake in a ride-along later this week organized by the Women In Trucking Association (WIT).

Brewster will be sharing the cab with Stephanie Klang, a company driver for Con-way since 1987 and Monica Abdul-Rashid, a long-haul driver for Schneider. They will be driving to the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky, where Brewster is set to speak at WIT’s annual “Salute to Women Behind the Wheel” event.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to ride with two very successful women in trucking and look forward to experiencing first-hand the work environment that so much of ATRI’s research is focused on improving” said Brewster who was named WIT’s Influential Woman of the Year in 2013.

WIT President and CEO Ellen Voie commented: “This is a great opportunity to give legislators, regulators and industry leaders the opportunity to experience a small part of a driver’s job. This helps them better understand the challenges faced on the road every day.”

The ride-along is on Wednesday March 26.
