QUALCOMM BUYS EATON’S TRUCKING INFO-SERVICES UNIT

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions has purchased the assets of Eaton’s Trucking Information Services business unit, including its FleetAdvisor operation.

The purchase price included an undisclosed cash payment plus “additional compensation” based on FleetAdvisor software sales as well as OmniTRACS systems sold by Eaton.

The FleetAdvisor system includes hardware and software elements for in-vehicle computers, such as automated driver logs, accurate state fuel tax calculation, enhanced work order management, increased driver and vehicle productivity, and improved customer service.
