LAVAL, Que. — A new transportation-industry application service provider has been launched in Quebec.

Datacom, whose “technological partners” include AT&T Canada, Rogers AT&T Wireless, Celestica, and Cognicase, specializes in creating “sophisticated technological applications designed to evaluate, supervise and control the activities and computer data of transportation fleets and industrial tanks,” Datacom said in a press release.

It’s flagship product, Mobilius, is a system developed to enhance data management “in real time by integrating cellular satellite and Internet technologies.” It specializes in “machine-to-machine” transactions, and can track vehicles and “obtain parallel data, such as excess speed, sharp stops, and the road behaviour of the drivers.”

The company has two other products, the Meterman Level and the Meterman Flow, which will be launched soon.
