Residents protest proposed compost site

BROOKFIELD, P.E.I. — About 50 people took to the streets donning placards in opposition to a planned indoor compost site that will be built just off the provincial highway.

While construction is still in the planning stage, residents opposed to the facility say there is already far too much traffic on the road.

They contend the new facility will only lead to serious accidents thanks to the addition of big trucks entering and exiting the highway at the site.
