KOOTENAY PASS, B.C. — The Ministry of Transportation is warning drivers that there will be blasting near the summit of Kootenay Pass, which will close Hwy. 3 Sept. 6.

The closure will be between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., but blasting will take place throughout September.

All blasting will occur about two kilometres west of the summit of Kootenay Pass, in an effort to stabilize rocks and prevent them from falling onto the highway.

For more information about the project, call the Minstry’s Central Kootenay District office at 250-354-6521.
