MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Ryder System Inc. has opened up its service network.

With the launch of Ryder On-Demand, the company now allows private fleet owners and for-hire carriers to obtain service from the Ryder service network using a “pay-as-you-go” basis. Pre-determined labour rates and part pricing will be available on both preventative maintenance work and on repairs.

Pay-as-you-go customers will also be able to call on 24/7 roadside assistance, make use of extended repair hours and will have access to replacement vehicles.

“New complex engine technologies and tightening emissions and safety regulations make it more challenging than ever to maintain a large fleet of vehicles,” said Jerry Brown, Ryder Canada vice-president and general manager, fleet management solutions. “Many fleet owners no longer have the capital or resources to hire and train qualified technicians and invest in maintenance infrastructure.”
