GREEN BAY, Wisc.– Mark Rourke has been named Schneider’s new executive vice-president and chief operating officer, the company announced today.

In his new position, Rourke will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Schneider with all North American service offerings now reporting up through him.

“While Mark will now oversee our day-to-day operations, I will focus more time on the strategic growth of our business and long-term positioning,” said president and CEO Chris Lofgren. “Additionally, as the regulatory and compliance environment continually evolves, it requires more external engagement. I will work closely with our Government Affairs team at both the federal and state levels to ensure that the interests of our company and industry are promoted and protected.”

Lofgren added the change-up in the company’s leadership structure will help set the course for the organization’s strategic positioning.

“Schneider is looking to grow both organically and through acquisition to increase its market share,” he said. “This new structure will enable that and accelerate our ability to create value for customers, associates and our business.”

Rourke joined the Schneider team back in 1987. During his years with Schneider he has a variety of leadership roles, including president of truckload services, general manager of Schneider Transportation Management, vice-president of customer service and director of driver training.
