Seventh annual Manitoba World’s Largest Truck Convoy set for this weekend
WINNIPEG, Man. – The World’s Largest Truck Convoy is in Winnipeg this weekend.
The convoy is put on by the Law Enforcement Torch Run and the Manitoba Trucking Association to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Manitoba. It will take place at the Oak Bluff Recreation Centre at 11 a.m.
This will be the seventh year Manitoba will be involved in the convoy. It is an all day event and has raised more than $4 million in Canada and the US. Last year, the Manitoba convoy raised $55,000.
“The Manitoba Trucking Association is thrilled that the trucking industry in Manitoba has embraced this event in support of Special Olympics Manitoba. We are extremely proud to be the presenting sponsor of this wonderful event,” said Manitoba Trucking Association, executive director, Terry Shaw.
After the convoy completes its run, participants are welcome at the Oak Bluff Recreation Centre where Special Olympics Manitoba athletes, family, friends will be for a lunch and presentation.
