Shell Rotella, HDDC awarding thousands in heavy-duty scholarships

BURLINGTON, Ont. — Shell Rotella and the Heavy Duty Distributor Council of Canada (HDDC) will be awarding six scholarships for a total of $15,000 to students pursuing accreditation in trucking-related technical careers. Areas include trucking, logistics, supply chain management, engineering, mechanics, fleet maintenance, importing/exporting, third party logistics and shipping/receiving.

Applications are being accepted through Feb. 28. On March 30, Shell and the HDDC will select a total of six scholarship recipients across Canada to each receive $2,500 toward the completion of their post-secondary technical studies.

The scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled full-time in a program or an apprenticeship relating to the field of heavy-duty equipment, focusing on road transport. Recipients of each of the $2,500 scholarships will be chosen based on academic merit, financial need and commitment to contributing to the future success of the trucking industry.
