ELGIN, Ill. — SKF has named Tom O’Brien president of its vehicle service market for the North American business unit.

He replaces Mike McGrath, who passed away in October. O’Brien has served as vice-president of automotive sales for SKF VSM, North America, since joining the company in 2007.

In his new role, O’Brien will oversee all sales and marketing initiatives for SKF VSM automotive and heavy-duty aftermarkets in North America.

“We are pleased to have Tom transition into the role as president for SKF VSM, North America,” said SKF director Christer Cedervall. “Tom’s keen understanding of the industry and demonstrated managerial and leadership skills in his previous roles at SKF gives him a strong foundation for overseeing the continued success of the SKF Vehicle Service Market.”
