ST. JOHN’S, Nfld. – Drivers and trucking companies alike will gather on June 1 to raise money for a local children’s hospital.

Presented by the Just For Kids Transportation Group and in support of the Janeway Children’s Hospital Annual Telethon, the Teddy Bear Convoy will see trucks driving around Janeway in support of the kids.

After the convoy, the participating drivers will present the hospital with a cheque.

Last year, the Teddy Bear Convoy raised nearly $25,000.

Since trucker Jon Summers started the event more than 10 years ago, the convoy has raised almost a quarter of a million dollars for the hospital.

It is estimated that 40 truck drivers will participate in the convoy this weekend.
