Trail King shaves up to 1,000 lbs with new gooseneck design

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Trail King has introduced a new Mechanical Detachable Gooseneck (MG) trailer with a focus on a lighter weight design.

 The new gooseneck weighs in at  750-1,000 pounds lighter than previous models. The company, however, says load hauling strength has not been compromised with the lighter weight design.

 As with other Trail King models, the MG includes four steel main I-beams constructed of one-piece web and flange material that is welded on all four sides to seal and protect the seams from rust and corrosion. Then all steel is primed and painted with 2-component urethane primer and 2-component polyurethane paint before decking or any air, hydraulic, or electrical lines are installed.

The standard cross members in the main deck are 8” I-beams alternating with 4” I-beams for 12” spacing in the outer bays. For additional weight savings, as well as increased protection from corrosion, aluminum cross members or aluminum box beam cross members (to accommodate optional aluminum pullouts) are available as options.

 An all-steel upper deck and wheel area are standard but here, too, optional aluminum I-beams and outer rails are available for even more protection against corrosion.

 Other standard equipment on the new MG includes:

  • Gooseneck reinforced for flip
  • Removable gooseneck rollers
  • Manual, positive self-locking pin for the gooseneck
  • Bent-style D-rings and outrigger brackets
  • Adjustable ride height control
  • Wide load sign brackets and flag holders
  • And much more

 The Mechanical Detachable Gooseneck trailer is available in 60, 70, 80 and 90-thousand-pound capacities.
