Trailer orders strong in September, but backlogs thin: ACT

COLUMBUS, Ind. — September marked the second consecutive month of strong orders for trailer manufacturers.

ACT Research reported August and September boasted net orders that, when seasonally adjusted, were on pace to exceed the 240,000 unit mark.

However, despite that strength, ACT noted that industry backlogs continue to be thin.

“October is the normal kick-off for the industry orders season,” said Frank Maly, director, CV transportation with ACT Research. “The upcoming months will be critical to laying the foundation for the 2014 market.”
