TORONTO, Ont. – The Transportation Media family will be bidding a bittersweet farewell to managing editor Adam Ledlow this July 16^th as he moves on to a challenging position in marketing communications with the Canadian Hearing Society.

During his more than eight years working on the Transportation Media family of properties — Truck News, Truck West, Fleet Executive, Canadian Transportation & Logistics, TMTV, trucknews.com and ctl.ca – Adam’s writing talent earned a myriad of Canadian Business Press and Truck Writers of North America awards. His flare for on-camera work also earned him many awards for video journalism.

“Adam was a key member of an editorial team that over the past decade has worked hard to fulfill our editorial mandate to become a multimedia provider of transportation industry news – essentially to tell a story in the best way for that story to be told and to be able to engage with our readers in whichever way they want to be engaged,” said editorial director Lou Smyrlis. “He was a big part of our pioneering efforts in areas such as video and social media and a key member of a team that has won more than 60 writing and video journalism awards over the past few years.”

But despite all his awards and accomplishments, Ledlow may be best remembered for his willingness to laugh at himself and have a good natured poke at industry leaders – all on camera, of course. Few were spared, in particular his boss Lou Smyrlis. From his hilarious blooper shows to his trademark bowties and constantly “evolving” hairstyles, beards and goatees Adam was a character to be remembered.

Ledlow’s history with Transportation Media was also one of personal courage and persistence as he coped with severe hearing loss before starting to regain his hearing following a recent operation.

“While we will miss Adam greatly, I know this new role in communications with the Canadian Hearing Society is a perfect fit as he will be communicating from the heart,” said Smyrlis. “We wish him well and we thank him for his many years of award-winning efforts.”
