OROMOCTO, N.B. — Traffic on the Trans-Canada Highway near Oromocto, N.B. was disrupted this morning after a rig left the highway and fell through the ice of the St. John River.

The unidentified driver was unhurt in the incident, and the truck was clearly visible after submerging up to mid-door height.

It wasn’t immediately clear why the truck left the road one km. west of the Burton Bridge around 5:30 a.m., but no other vehicles were involved in the mishap.
