Truck News earns five awards from Truck Writers of North America

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Truck News editors and contributors earned five 2012 Communications Awards from the Truck Writers of North America.

The awards were presented during the organization’s annual industry awards banquet held at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

Truck News columnist and full-time professional driver Al Goodhall won a silver award for his regularly featured column, Over the Road. Joanne Ritchie, executive director of the Owner-Operators Business Association of Canada also won a silver award for her monthly column, Voice of the Owner/Operator.

James Menzies, editor of Truck News, took home two silvers and a gold. The silver awards were for features entitled ‘Becoming a Best Fleet to Drive For,’ and ‘The I-Shift Shines in Sweden.’

He won a gold award for ‘The Trucking Industry’s Musculoskeleton in the Closet,’ which examined the effects of MSD injuries on long-haul truck drivers and explored various ways progressive fleets are trying to reduce such injuries.
