CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. – Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company’s Clearfield, Utah plant has received the Liberty Mutual Insurance Silver Safety Award, the company announced today.

The award is based on DART rates, calculated by factoring the number of hour works in conjunction with the number of accidents at the plant. The company achieved a DART rate of 1.62. The industry average is 5.5.

“Being recognized by Liberty Mutual is a big deal. But not as big a deal as sending employees home to see their families and loved ones after every shift.  Without the support of both Utility’s owners and employees, we could not have achieved this award,” said Dennis Wilson, Utility’s Clearfield Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager.

Bob Griffis, corporate EHS managers for Utility also commented saying, “This is the second Silver Award in a row for our Clearfield plant, and our 8th Liberty Safety Award since 2001. We are proud of the effort and dedication of our employees and management team for their continued commitment to keep themselves and their fellow employees safe.”

Utility currently has five trailer manufacturing plants across the United States.
