FORT MILL, S.C. — Western Star’s 4900SB is touring its way across dealerships in Canada and the US to highlight the fuel-efficient features available via the model’s FE (fuel-efficient) package.

Equipped with the Detroit DD15 engine, the 4900SB FE combines aerodynamic features and lightweight options – including a wrap-around front bumper, underhood air cleaners and sloped hood – designed to improve fuel economy.

“This tour demonstrates how Western Star’s engineering, together with Detroit engine technology, can significantly reduce fuel consumption and ultimately positively impact a company’s bottom line,” said Ann Demitruk, director of marketing for Western Star. “Western Star is proud to showcase another solution that meets our customers’ needs for a tough and rugged truck without compromising fuel efficiency.”

Additional features include an airliner suspension, lightweight aluminum fifth wheel and honeycomb sleeper construction.
