Winnipeg closes main route
WINNIPEG, Man. — Beginning tomorrow night at 6 p.m. and running through until midnight on Sunday, a section of Portage Avenue will be closed to all traffic.
The closure, in effect to make room for a street party, is located between Main Street and Memorial Boulevard.
Throughout the weekend, vehicles will be rerouted at the request of the City of Winnipeg. Council has devised a detour network that includes temporarily opening one-way streets to two-way traffic.
