HAMILTON, Ont. — A 35-year-old man spent last Friday night and part of Saturday perched atop the Burlington Skyway, one of southern Ontario’s busiest bridges.

The Skyway was shutdown to traffic in both directions for nearly the entire 18-hour stretch.

The man, who is now in hospital and will undergo a psychiatric assessment, was found balancing on an eight-centimetre wide ledge approximately 45 metres above the ground.

Police negotiators and a psychiatrist tried to talk the gentleman down before was eventually grabbed by two negotiators.
