RCMP suspect hit-and-run trucker

PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. – Prince Rupert RCMP suspects that a large truck or tractor-trailer was involved in a fatal hit and run in the area.

Terry Brent Matticks of Oak Bay was walking near a Prince Rupert campground on July 29 when he was struck and killed. Evidence relating to the event has led police to believe a truck was involved.

Police want to speak to anyone who was operating a two- to three-tonne truck or tractor-trailer in the area on the weekend of July 28-29. Police would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle involved.
