McWilliams Moving to raise awareness of distracted driving

by Truck News

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — McWilliams Moving and Storage says it’s “taking action against distraction” and will launch a distracted driving initiative Oct. 20.

The company’s vehicles will be adorned with prominently placed anti-texting and driving decals, reminding motorists that “The safest move you can make – don’t text and drive.”

“Safety is our number one priority,” said Dan McWilliams, president of McWilliams Moving and Storage. “All of our employees are ambassadors of this program and together we hope to generate more public awareness about this growing problem and further educate motorists on safe driving habits.”

The moving company will be working with the Infrastructure Health & Safety Association (IHSA) and the Council of Driver Trainers to get this message in front of Peterborough high school students.

The campaign will kick off Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. at McWilliams Moving and Storage, 712 The Kingsway, Peterborough, Ont. During the event, DriveWise will be on-site with a texting and driving simulator, to show attendees the dangers of distracted driving.
