MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — The Canadian Recruiting & Retention Conference, hosted by Over the Road, is back.

The event will be held Oct. 2-3 at the International Plaza Hotel and Conference Centre (formerly the Doubletree, which has housed many trucking events).

“The slowdown in the economy forced us to take a break from this event for a few years, but our customers have been asking us to bring it back. We’ve been waiting for the right time and the right opportunity, and here it is. We’re very excited to bring this event back to the Canadian trucking industry in October and it is a terrific way to celebrate our company’s 20th anniversary,” said Peter Charbonueau, president and publisher of Over the Road. “A lot has changed in the trucking industry since our last conference. There are a lot of newcomers to the industry, roles have been redefined and there is a lot of doom and gloom in the media about the impending driver shortage. Our Conference has always been about re-energizing the industry’s efforts to adopt the best practices for recruitment, education and retention.”

Speakers will include Dan Baker, Kelly Anderson, Ray Haight, David Benjatschek, Steve Bryan, Ellen Voie, Lisa Kember, Hughena Brennan and Jay Wommack. For more details or to register, visit www.overtheroad.ca.
