Transport Trailer with Dangerous Goods Stolen in Mississauga

The theft of a transport trailer containing a large quantity of dangerous chemicals has investigators from 12 Division Peel Police warning the public of the potential hazards of the load for public safety.

During the early morning hours of Friday, January 11, 2013, the trailer was stolen from a trucking compound on Tomken Road in Mississauga. The trailer is described as 2005 TRMBL, white in colour, 53’ in length, bearing Nova Scotia license plate PT57976. The words  “CLARKE ROAD TRANSPORTATION”  were printed in red letters along both sides, with a Serial number of 535214 printed in black on the front and rear.

The trailer was loaded with Sulphuric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, and Potassium Hydroxide. These chemicals are all classed as dangerous goods and are corrosive in nature. The chemicals are stable when on their own however can become dangerous when used improperly and may therefore pose a threat to anyone who may come into contact with them.
