YOUNTVILLE, Ca. -- The aftermarket side of Daimler Trucks North America is aiming to set a new standard in customer service by strengthening its 24-hour-or-less service turnaround promise, adding new digital tools, enlarging its supply chain, and launching a major expansion of its Alliance Truck Parts enterprise.

PACCAR celebrates Distribution Center opening
RENTON, WA - More than 500 people joined PACCAR Parts in celebrating the grand opening of a new $32-million Distribution Center in Renton, Washington. The 160,000 square-foot facility began operations this April, serving 92 dealerships in Western Canada and the Northwestern U.S. It is one of 17 such Distribution Centers worldwide, and can store 38,000 aftermarket parts for all makes of trucks, trailers and buses.

The truck parts and service aftermarket got a lot of attention in 2015, as the focus of many fleets shifted to total cost of operation rather than cost per mile. This shined a bright spotlight on maintenance and repair practices as ways to keep asset utilization high. Here's a look back at some of the major aftermarket issues from the past year. This year saw the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Commercial Vehicle Solutions Network and the Truck and Engine Manufacturers Association along with the Equipment and Tool Institute, the Auto Care Association and Heavy Duty Aftermarket Canada. As a result of the MOU, fleets and independent repair garages will have access to service information - previously only available to dealers - for model year 2010 and later trucks and buses over 10,000 pounds sold in the United States and Canada.


VHD Equipment Network to Merge into Power Heavy Duty
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL -- VIPAR Heavy Duty has announced its VHD Equipment Network of distributors will transition into the Power Heavy Duty LLC the first of 2016. The combination of the two groups into one will allow the organization to maximize efficiencies while focusing on growing business with members, supplier partners and their collective customers, according to VIPAR. The merger will also result in a network of hundreds of locations in Canada and the U.S.


Maxim Truck & Trailer Introduces One-Hour Parts Delivery
WINNIPEG -- The offering guarantees a one-hour delivery of heavy-duty parts for a flat fee of $20. The service is ideally suited to heavy-duty repair shops and fleets who are focused on uptime for their customers and fleets, according to Maxim.
