TransCore’s Canadian freight volumes on Loadlink gain traction in Q1

by Truck News

TORONTO, Ont. — TransCore Link Logistics’ Canadian and cross-border freight volumes increased by 17% month over month in March. This is a welcome sign from carriers who haven’t seen a month-over-month increase in more than two years.

However, year-over-over volumes were down 17% compared to March 2015.

In addition, Intra-Canada load volumes represented 27% of the total volumes and were down only 1% year-over-year. Cross-border loads averaged 69%  of the total data submitted by Loadlink’s Canadian-based customers. Loads leaving Canada were down by 14% and loads coming into Canada decreased 26% year-over-year. Posted equipment increased 5% month-over-month, and 23% year-over-year. The equipment-to-load ratio decreased to 3.05 from 3.42 in February.
