OTTAWA, Ont. – Brenda Andress, commissioner of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League has been confirmed as the luncheon speaker at Trucking HR Canada’s annual Women with Drive Leadership Summit.

The event takes place on March 5, and includes a multitude of industry leaders in the trucking sector.

“Brenda is the perfect addition to our event designed for everyone who recruits, retains or mentors women in Canada’s trucking industry,” says Trucking HR Canada CEO Angela Splinter.

Andress has had many successes in her career. She was the first woman to play for a men’s college hockey team, and after she suffered a stroke at 40 years old, she re-learned how to skate and became one of the first female hockey referees in Canada to obtain a level six.

The summit is taking place at the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel and includes a reception to toast International Women’s Day.

  • $399.00 dollars ! I have spent a week on the road where I didn’t make much more than this!
Just hit a patch of bad weather and have a load cancelled and there goes the price of this ticket.
All this hype about encouraging women to get into trucking and then the first “summit” is priced out of the reach of most of us.
    Get real !
