REGINA, Sask. – There will be a true show of skills and professionalism in Saskatchewan this weekend as the Truck Driving Championships are in town.

This Saturday June 7, the best drivers from the transportation industry will face-off to earn their credentials as the best driver in the province at this year’s Truck Driving Championships.

The competition is divided into five categories: straight truck, single-single, single-tandem, tandem-tandem, and B-trains.

The first place winner form each category will advance to the nationals where they have the chance to prove they are the best in the country.

The day begins at 8 a.m. with a light breakfast and after the competition, an awards banquet and dinner will be held.

The Saskatchewan Trucking Association says it has an above average number of drivers participating at the event, and that the importance of having safe drivers in the industry “cannot be overstated.”

This event will be taking place at the SLH Terminal Lot at Ross Avenue and Park Street, and the banquet and dinner is at the Victoria Club.

Please note the event will take place rain or shine.
