LONDON, Ont. – CarriersEdge and NAL Insurance have developed an online training suite of programs for owner/operators and company drivers.

The StepUp Contractor Package is available for $9.99 per month, with no minimum commitments or contracts, the companies announced. It includes more than a dozen online training courses, including topics such as: vehicle inspection; cargo securement; hours-of-service; dangerous goods; health and wellness; fuel efficiency; and business skills for owner/operators.

“Utilizing our leading edge technology platform, we believe that we can deliver solutions not only for our fleet customers, but also our owner/operator clientele,” said Chris Henry, vice-president and general manager of NAL. “With the StepUp package, owner/ops can have a complete safety and compliance training program available at their convenience. These courses sell individually for $40-50 through other channels, so we’re very pleased to be able to offer more than a dozen different titles for less than $10/month.”

“NAL is known for having their finger on the pulse of the owner/operator community in Canada,” added Mark Murrell, president of CarriersEdge. “This package will help those contractors stay up to date on the latest regulations and we’re very excited to be working with NAL to offer it.”

The package is available through NAL’s owner/operator portal. You can call 800-265-1657 or visit www.nalinsurance.com.

Aaron - these courses are already recognized by the insurance companies, and some insurers have even included them in their own programs.
