Ontario on the road toward faster highway clean up

TORONTO, Ont. -- Faster clean up of highway collisions could soon be a reality in Ontario.

TORONTO, Ont. — Faster clean up of highway collisions could soon be a reality in Ontario.

A private member’s bill (Bill 181) was introduced earlier this week that if enacted, would establish a new committee to make suggestions to the Minister of Transportation and the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services to better handle incident management on Ontario highways.

If passed, the bill would help formalize advice the Ontario Trucking Alliance (OTA) and others have been making to revive a committee devoted to establishing a program to encourage faster clean-up of highway accidents since the Faster Clearance Working Group (FCWG) was dissolved.
