VANCOUVER, B.C. — The B.C. Automobile Association has leapt into the millennium and on to the information highway as the first insurer in the western-most province to offer online real-time optional auto insurance rates.

Available to customers at www.bcaa.com are online quotes for Advantage Auto and Advantage Home as well as travel medical and life insurance.

“This information/quote service is truly the first of its kind in B.C. Members and non-members alike can get a quote by simply completing a five-minute form. They’ll have an auto insurance response in 10 seconds,” Cathy Giles-Cathro, BCAA vice-president, tells local media. “Our e-vision is to have the province’s No. 1 Web site for insurance advice, products and services.”

The portal provides what it calls, “unbiased tips” on everything from how to protect your vehicle from theft to what coverage you receive from basic medical insurance, and information about child car seats and vehicle recalls.
