TORONTO, Ont. — The June 30 deadline is nearing for post-secondary students interested in applying for the Ontario Trucking Association’s (OTA) Bud Barr Scholarship Fund.
The scholarship provides financial aid to a university or college-bound child of a transport driver in financial need as the result of illness, injury or death of their over-the-road parent.
OTA is making available $5,000 per year for two scholarships ($2,500 per scholarship). One award will be available to the child of a company driver, the other to that of an owner/operator.
Recipients will be determined based on need. They must also be under 25 and enrolled or registered to attend a college or university on a full-time basis.
For more information and to get a copy of the application, visit www.ontruck.org or call 416-249-7401.
