TPP funds now allocated

REGINA, Sask. — The Saskatchewan Trucking Association (STA) has identified specific projects the Transportation Partnership Program (TPP) will be funding this year.

They will be dividing the slightly less than $2.5 million into four categories. Safety improvement projects will get $1,127,000; new highway construction will see $1 million; road research projects receives $95,000; and traffic safety Initiatives gets $275,000.

Some specific projects are also targeted to get a boost from the fund: Flattening slopes and sharp pavement edges at various locations, twinning on Hwy. 16, research repair methods for rutted pavement and a multi-year education campaign to promote the trucking industry and improve safety.
