KAG Canada acquires Groupe Sylvain Simard
KAG Canada has acquired Chicoutimi, Que.-based Groupe Sylvain Simard.
The company specializes in the transportation of aggregates, chemicals along with cement and aluminum dross throughout eastern Canada, according to a news release.
“Acquiring Groupe Sylvain Simard will allow our footprint to expand in Quebec and continue to diversify our commodities in the East,” said Lynette McMann, KAG Canada’s EVP of operations. “We are looking forward to welcoming our new team members to the KAG Canada team. This acquisition is accompanied by their team of professional drivers, mechanics and office staff along with their hauling equipment.”

In 2004, Groupe Sylvain Simard was founded by brothers Sylvain and Marc. Both will be staying on with the company in the acquisition by Les Distributions Carl Beaulac, under KAG Canada, and will work with Carl Beaulac, Vanessa Beaulac and the KAG Canada team.
“We are extremely happy with this acquisition as it is a perfect fit,” said Sylvain and Marc Simard. “We are proud to join a company and a team, such as KAG Canada and Les Distributions Carl Beaulac, who embody the same values as we have, and always will.”
