Volvo says analysis gives it top marks for resale value
Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA) says an analysis using the independent platform VIP+ has shown its VNL gets the highest resale value related to comparable models in the United States.
VIP+ is a tool used to evaluate commercial vehicle resale performance across major age brackets, the truck maker says. An analysis using the tool found that for 2025, Volvo VNL sleeper models retained value better than comparable models in the U.S. market.

“The findings reinforce Volvo’s reputation for durability, efficiency, and long-term fleet profitability. Our customers are focused on the total cost of ownership, not just upfront investment cost,” said Peter Voorhoeve, president, VTNA. “The strong resale performance of our legacy Volvo VNL sleepers demonstrates the real-world value of designing trucks that are built to last, operate efficiently, and continue delivering returns well beyond their first ownership.”
Volvo says VNL sleeper models retained 20-30% more value than comparable models of the same age and mileage.
