Bc Highways Get Reader’s Goat

Dear Editor,

After reading the BC transportation minister’s comments it’s obvious that the minister either is not telling the truth or has never been outside of BC.

I’m referring to his statement that BC’s highways are among the best anywhere.

BC’s highways – if you could call them highways;they’re more like “goat trails” – for the most part are terrible, and the “rest areas” rank among Third-World services. Before the rest areas can be improved they would actually have to build them first.

I have lived in BC for 15 years and I travel to other areas frequently and I do know that modern four-lane highways with rest areas do exist, but not in most of BC.
