Durham Region truck blitz puts 22 out of service

by Today's Trucking

Durham Region Police Service (DRPS), the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) together placed 22 trucks out of service during a recent Durham Region blitz.

The three-day commercial vehicle blitz began Nov. 19 and inspected 172 trucks.

Officers from the three agencies laid 100 charges for various mechanical and document related infractions, they said in a release.

“DRPS would like to thank all of the agencies involved with conducting this safety initiative, and will continue these initiatives throughout the year to ensure unsafe commercial vehicles are removed from our roads,” DRPS said in a release.
