Goodyear extends Highway Hero nomination deadline
Goodyear has extended the deadline for its 2025 Highway Hero Award nominations to 11:59 p.m. ET on Feb. 28. The original deadline was set to Dec. 31, 2024.
Since 1983, the Goodyear Highway Hero Award has honored CDL drivers for their selfless acts of bravery and assistance on the road. Nominations remain open to all professional drivers, including long-haul truckers, dump truck drivers, and regional delivery operators, who performed a heroic act between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2024.

“Commercial truck drivers are not only at the center of the supply chain industry, but they also act as vigilant guardians of the roads, ready to assist others in need,” said Joe Burke, vice-president of Goodyear North America Commercial business, in a news release. “For over four decades, the Goodyear Highway Hero Award program has celebrated remarkable contributions of professional truck drivers who have acted selflessly for the good of others on the road.”
To be eligible, nominees must be full-time commercial drivers with a valid CDL, reside in the U.S. or Canada, and actively operate a commercial, infrastructure, vocational, or non-lifesaving emergency vehicle with a rim size greater than 19 inches. The act of heroism must have occurred while on the job.
