Milton, Ont., truck driver to buy home with $1 million lottery windfall
A truck driver from Milton, Ont., is looking forward to buying a home after he won $1 million playing the lottery.
Carlos Da Silva matched all seven Encore numbers in exact order in the Sept. 6 Lotto Max draw, according to a news release.
Recently, another trucker celebrated a big lottery win in the province. Jason Free from Orillia won $1 million in the Aug. 30 Lotto Max draw.

Da Silva has been playing the lottery with OLG for more than 30 years, choosing his own numbers and adding Encore to his tickets.
“My wife and I were on our way home after dropping off some donation items at a local retirement home,” Da Silva said. “I decided to check my ticket on the OLG app. When my wife realized what we had won, she started screaming! I was a little calmer.
“All we could say was ‘OMG!’ over and over, as we made our way home. We shared the news with our family, and they were overjoyed!”
When asked how it felt to win a life-changing prize, the trucker said, “I can’t explain what I’m feeling and that’s the honest truth! I haven’t been able to sleep for days due to the joy I feel.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Sobeys Extra on Bronte Street South in Milton.
