STA honors drivers McDougall and Morris, dispatcher Reid
The Saskatchewan Trucking Association (STA) honored Bison Transport driver Kirt McDougall with the CTA/Volvo Trucks Canada National Driver of the Year Award. Russell (Russ) Morris, a driver with AGT Foods, was awarded the 2024 STA, Volvo Trucks Provincial Driver of the Year Award.
Jessica Reid of Aero Delivery was named the 2024 Dispatcher of the Year. The awards were presented during the recent STA gala and awards banquet.
McDougall, the province’s 2023 driver of the year, was chosen among seven 2023 provincial drivers of the year to be this year’s national winner.

He began his career with Bison Transport in 2011, as a long combination vehicle (LCV) turnpike driver based out of Saskatoon. Operating in a truck share capacity, Kirt has achieved 1.15 million consecutive accident-free miles.
McDougall is known to help others, including fellow Bison drivers, raising funds for the Humboldt Broncos players, and assisting his community in times of need. He and his wife also assist individuals with mental health and addiction issues.

Morris was recognized for his dedicated service, professionalism, and leadership. He started his driving journey at a young age on the family farm.
With over 1.9 million km logged at AGT Foods and he has an impressive record as a driver Supervisor.
New challenge at age 64
When many look to slow down, Morris took on a new challenge at age 64, obtaining his Class 1A licence and embarking on a new chapter in his career with AGT Foods.
His exceptional driving skills and unwavering focus on safety have made him AGT’s first choice for specialized hauls, including a landmark assignment transporting three loaded 20-foot containers on a 12-axle, three-trailer configuration—an undertaking Morris completed with precision and care.

Meanwhile, dispatcher Reid has more than 14 years of experience in the trucking industry and nine years with Aero Delivery.
As the logistics coordinator, she manages and dispatches the highway fleet and third-party delivery operations, ensuring efficiency and customer satisfaction. She also serves as the dispatch office manager, overseeing daily office operations and acting as a 24-hour on-call contact, all while leading Aero Delivery’s social committee.
Reid played a key role in the early stages of the STA’s Women’s Shifting Gears program, an initiative aimed at increasing women’s representation in the trucking industry. Her community work includes the Mad Dogs Football Club, where she serves on the board and leads fundraising efforts to support the non-profit.
