A truck driver plans to use part of his lottery winnings to help family.

Mario Marciello of Ajax, Ont., won a Wintario50 prize worth $50,000 in the Aug. 14 draw. The trucker has been playing the lottery with OLG for decades, according to a news release.

It was a Friday night when the 63-year-old driver decided to check his tickets. “The first one I scanned was a big winner, and I was shocked,” he said. “It was unbelievable.”

Marciello texted his family a photo of the winning ticket. “My sister couldn’t believe it,” he said. “Everyone was very happy for me.”

He also plans to pay some bills and save for the future with his winnings.
