Trucking Announcements: Mullininx to retire from Great Dane, new hire at TEN Canada, Trade Tech comes to Canada

This week, Rick Mullininx, Great Dane’s president and chief operating officer, announced he will retire in 2026. TEN Canada welcomed Malia Johnstone as a new national account director, and Adarsh Vasudev has moved from the logistics platform Trade Tech’s India operations to establish the company’s presence in Canada.

Great Dane’s Mullininx to retire in 2026

Rick Mullininx, Great Dane’s president and chief operating officer, will retire on Dec. 31, 2026, after 45 years of service.

Starting as an intern, he advanced through nearly every level of the organization, according to a news release.

“Rick embodies the spirit of Great Dane,” said chairman Bill Crown. “His work ethic, operational expertise, and deep connection to the company’s values have helped shape Great Dane into what it is today. His journey from intern to president is a testament to his extraordinary dedication and leadership.” 

“It has been the honor of my life to grow up at Great Dane,” said Mullininx. “From my earliest days on the shop floor to serving as president, I have had the privilege of working with incredible people who care deeply about this company. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and remain committed to ensuring a smooth transition that positions Great Dane for continued success.” 

As part of his transition, Mullininx will join Great Dane’s board of advisors. He will continue in his current capacity until after the successful transition of a new CEO.

Johnstone joins TEN Canada

TEN Canada welcomed Malia Johnstone to its team as a new national account director. The company said in a LinkedIn post that Johnstone – who is based in Montreal — brings years of experience from the fuel distribution and transportation rental industries to the role.

“Throughout her career, she has successfully managed large client portfolios, driven sustainable growth, and strengthened long-term business relationships,” the announcement reads.

Prior to joining the company, she worked as a fuel consultant at 4Refuel for more than four years, and spent almost seven years at Hertz as an account executive. She also was a branch manager at Ryder System.

Vasudev to establish Trade Tech’s presence in Canada

Global logistics platform Trade Tech announced that Adarsh Vasudev has moved from the company’s India operations to establish the company’s presence in Canada.

His role focuses on delivering the platform to customers across Canada, expanding coverage alongside established operations in the U.S. and Mexico, according to a news release.

The company recently expanded its international presence to support customer growth, also making new appointments in the United Kingdom, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates.
