Aperia Halo tire inflator shows fuel savings in MVTS testing
Independent testing by MVT Solutions found that Aperia Technologies’ Halo tire inflator delivered measurable fuel savings results during controlled track testing.
According to MVTS, the Halo system achieved fuel savings of 1.19 gallons per 1,000 miles during testing conducted on a 2026 Kenworth T680 equipped with a Cummins X15 400EX engine, Eaton Endurant transmission, and a 2025 Great Dane dry van trailer.
The test was performed on a nine-mile closed track at 65 mph.
Based on an assumed diesel price of US$3.760 per gallon and annual mileage of 125,000 miles, MVTS estimates the fuel savings could translate into approximately $556 per vehicle per year.

“This test quantified the fuel and dollar savings of maintaining proper tire pressure,” said Daryl Bear, chief operating officer and chief engineer at MVTS, in a news release. “Fleets may find it surprising there was a loss in fuel economy when the tire pressure is too high and too low. The numbers may vary by tire type and load, however, we expect the results to be directionally consistent. This new generation Aperia Halo is also smaller — hardly bigger than the outer hub housing — so it’s very sleek and can be combined with aerodynamic wheel covers.”

MVTS said fuel economy results may vary depending on tire type and load, but expects the findings to be directionally consistent across similar applications.
